In Rem (7-4) ridden by Chester Williams tipped by fromthehorsesmouth.info landed the Virgin Bet Fives Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles 2 furlongs at Warwick on Saturday.
Cheddleton (9-2) from 6-1 tipped each-way finished fourth in the Virgin Bet Warwick Handicap Chase over 2m 4f with Skybet paying four places.
Alan King trained Edwardstone (10-11f) landed the Grade 2 Virgin Bet Kingmaker Novices Chase over 2m ahead of tip Third Time Lucki (2-1) in preparation for a tilt at the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham in March.
“He was very good – his jumping was electric – and saw it out nicely. It was good to be on board!,” said winning jockey Tom Cannon.
“He’s always had an engine and everything he’s done his whole career has built up to this season, being a chaser,” said Cannon.
Edwardstone has been cut to 2-1 favourite from 11-4 for the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival.
“It’s nice it’s come to fruition. Obviously Cheltenham is the aim – but there’s a lot of time between now and then – hopefully we get there in one piece,” added Cannon.
Third Time Lucki trainer Dan Skelton said: “Edwardstone won well – he’s a very strong Arkle contender. Third Time Lucki didn’t underperform and if he did it was by pennies not pounds.
“Well keep him in the Arkle – but the reality is he’ll probably go for Aintree. I was very happy with him, he travelled and jumped really well and did nothing wrong.”
